What a vinyl fence costs in Toledo

Vinyl privacy fence in Toledo runs $45 to $75 per foot installed, materials and labor together. That is the published rate from the one Toledo fence company that puts its prices in public.

It is the most expensive of the common privacy options here. Treated wood privacy runs $25 to $35 a foot in the same price list, so on a normal back yard vinyl roughly doubles the bill.

Worked examples

Vinyl privacy at $45 to $75 a foot, no gates, no removal of an old fence.

A fuller job. 150 feet of vinyl with one walk gate, and an old fence hauled away:

• Fence, 150 feet at $45 to $75: $6,750 to $11,250
• One walk gate at the Ohio range of $200 to $600: $200 to $600
• Tear out and haul away 150 feet at $5 to $10 a foot: $750 to $1,500
• Total: about $7,700 to $13,350

The other price lists sit lower

The Toledo band is at the top of what Ohio contractors publish, so collect a second and third quote before you sign.

• Arrow Fence of Ohio publishes $35 to $70 a foot.
• Scheiderer Fence in central Ohio publishes $30 to $60 a foot installed, with premium styles at $45 to $60.
• National estimating sites go lower still, at $15 to $40 a foot installed, which no Ohio contractor we found matches.

One number to ignore. HomeBlue lists Toledo vinyl at $25 to $31 a foot, but that page is from 2022 and it prices a 4 foot fence. It is not a 6 foot privacy fence.

What the materials alone cost

This is worth knowing, because it explains why vinyl quotes look the way they do.

A 6 foot by 8 foot white vinyl privacy panel lists at about $99. The 5 inch by 5 inch by 9 foot post it slots into lists at about $41, and a cap for the top of each post is another $4 to $8. Posts are never included with a panel. One retailer publishes a whole 96 foot material list at $1,954.95, which works out near $20 a foot in materials before anyone digs a hole.

Those are listed retail prices read in September 2026 from listings that could not be pinned to a Toledo store, so treat them as the shape of the cost rather than a quote. The point stands either way. Vinyl material runs several times what treated pine costs, and the installed price has to carry it.

Why vinyl is less forgiving to install

Vinyl panels do not screw to the face of a post. The posts arrive with slots already cut through them, and the top and bottom rails of the panel push into those slots so the panel is held captive between two posts.

That means the posts have to be concreted in at exactly the right spacing before the panel goes in, and the run cannot be nudged afterwards. On a straight, flat, easy yard that is quick work. On a slope or around obstacles it takes planning, and that is where the labor part of the price comes from.

What moves the price

Gates. Ohio contractors quote $200 to $600 for a walk gate and $600 to $2,500 for a double drive gate. No Toledo company publishes a vinyl gate rate on its own. A ready made 6 foot by 4 foot vinyl gate panel lists at about $214 as a material line, before posts, hardware and labor.

Removal of the old fence. $5 to $10 a foot in Toledo.

Height. Toledo allows 6 feet along the side and rear and 3.5 feet in a front yard. Over 6 feet you need a building permit and a plan review.

Grade. Sloped and rocky ground slows any fence crew down, and vinyl gives less room to adapt than wood does.

Color and style. Ohio contractors charge more for premium styles, with one publishing $45 to $60 a foot for those against $30 to $60 for standard.

Sales tax

Under Ohio Administrative Code 5703-9-14, a contractor who buys materials that get built into your property is the consumer of those materials. He pays the sales tax at the register and does not add tax to your invoice. Expect a single lump sum with no tax line.

An honest gap

No supplier in Ohio or Michigan that we checked publishes a vinyl price to compare against. The only wholesaler with public numbers is in California, carries a $1,500 minimum order, and contradicts itself on its own page by listing the same section at two different prices. We are not going to build a Toledo price out of that.

So on vinyl, the local published band of $45 to $75 a foot is the anchor, the Ohio bands below it are the reason to shop around, and a written quote for your own yard is the only number that counts.
